Urban Planning and Design of Academician Valley
Jinghe New City, Xixian New Area, Xi'an, Shanxi, China
The two challenging parts of the project are: how to inherit the “old” traditional culture into the “new” sustainable spatial structure; how to bring in new industry economy and protect the original ecosystem in the meanwhile. The proposed development concept and strategy includes the following five segments:
- Cultural sustainable development – “rites and music”
- Traffic sustainable development – smart transportation model
- Ecology sustainable development – based on historical hydrological system
- Economy sustainable development - innovative economic development model
- Architecture sustainable development – “urban living room”
